Precautions for pre-treatment of electroless nickel plating

Appropriate pre-treatment and deposition processes are key to ensuring the quality of electroless nickel plating and its successful application in practical production. Unreasonable oil removal can result in poor adhesion, roughness, porosity, and easy cracking and peeling of the coating. So the pre-treatment requirements are very careful and strict, and the pre-treatment methods for chemical nickel plating are similar to those for electroplating processes.
The general pre-treatment of chemical nickel plating mainly uses impregnation method, which includes processes such as steam degreasing, water spraying and flowing water cleaning, acid washing, etc. It is best to use ultrasonic method for oil removal, but stirring or moving parts can also be used. Alkaline oil removal is carried out at high temperatures, and the effect is also very good. It is best to clean in high-temperature water before entering the chemical plating tank. If the temperature of the water washing tank cannot reach the temperature of the chemical nickel plating tank solution, the high-temperature pre plating tank can be used for a few minutes of chemical plating, and then formal chemical nickel plating can be carried out.



It should be noted that the plated parts are not allowed to collide with the cathode or anode during plating. The distance between the plating piece and the cathode should be greater than 2cm, so as not to produce bipolar and affect the adhesion of the coating.
